JOB DETAILS:
About the Role
All MAMA Program Coordinators lead the planning, implementation, reporting and improvement of our strategies and programs and contribute to the building and administration of the movement.

You will lead our Access to Knowledge program, which supports our members in disseminating information about Self-Managed Abortion (SMA) and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in their countries and communities. The role is responsible for creating and driving creative and effective strategies to meet program goals. You will plan, execute, coordinate, evaluate and report on all activities under this program.

You will use various approaches to build capacity in the MAMA Network members to work towards our goals, including one-on-one support, peer linking and learning, hosting trainings, training of trainers and provision of manuals, curricula and helpful materials.

Your Responsibilities will include:
Lead Access to Knowledge Strategy Execution (60%)
• Lead the development of MAMA’s Access to Knowledge work ensuring alignment with our ambitious strategic goals, building out current strategies and creating new ones as needed
• Develop and oversee work planning and budgeting for all our Access to Knowledge initiatives and goals ensuring timelines and milestones are achieved
• Ensure clarity of expected program outcomes and definition of M&E tools (e.g. knowledge gain, stigma reduction, agency, etc)
• Organize periodic trainings on SMA for MAMA members
• Support MAMA members in implementation of the various Access to Knowledge strategies in their communities and geographies
• Based on analytical reports, identify need for new materials and training resources
• Development and review of training materials (curricula, manuals, ppts, facilitation guides, etc)
• Sharing training materials with members that they can reuse for their day to day work
• Oversee the translation of materials into local languages
• Organize and facilitate ToTs for MAMA members to support them in training Community Resource People in their localities on SMA
• Support the program coordinators in charge of related strategies, such as the MAMA App and MAMA University in meeting their goals and achieving synergies
• Program M&E
• Create clarity on what outputs and outcomes you want to measure in your program. Reach out to M&E lead for the design of M&E tools.
• Use the quarterly data and analysis shared by M&E for program learning and drawing insights
• For special data collection needs arising outside the usual cycle, work with members to collect data directly.

Community Building across the Movement (30%)
• Spearhead strategic activities for members connection within MAMA Network
• Organize our quarterly all-member virtual meetings. This includes agenda planning, driving logistics, member mobilization and session facilitation.
• Spearhead the organizing of our large all-member gathering, an in-person meeting every 2 years. This includes coordination of agenda planning, driving logistics, member mobilization and session facilitation.
• Support planning and implementation of member-led Networking Zone meetings.
• Spearhead our Working Group approach (Learning from previous experiences, supporting the coordinators in charge in planning and implementation)
• Coordinate all Linking & Learning activities between MAMA members (linking & learning happens across all programs, so this role brings in oversight and efficiency, avoiding duplication of efforts)
• Support the adoption of lessons and innovations from the peer learning as needed
• Program M&E of our Community Building activities

Support development and growth of MAMA Network (10%)
• Participate in the reviews of the strategic plan
• Ensuring implementation, compliance and reporting on grants (as assigned)
• Create learning content in your program area for MAMA university, our member’s online learning platform
• Facilitate the creation and running of working groups in the program area, as need and opportunity arises
• Spearhead implementation of all organizational policies in the program areas
• Share ideas, feedback and insights that contribute to growth of the network
• Collect impact stories from the program and contribute content for various communications (annual report, newsletters, social media, etc)
• Represent MAMA Network and the programs externally

Who we are looking for:
• You consider yourself a feminist activist, boldly working on advancing abortion rights.
• Passionate and deep commitment to MAMA’s mission of building a movement to advocate and bring transformative change in SRHR in Africa
• Excited to support grassroot activists and organizations who have varying realities, stages of growth, cultures, languages, etc.
• A deep understanding of SRHR, SMA & Contraceptive guidelines, policies and realities across the African continent. You stay updated with research and latest protocols around the various medications involved in SMA.
• Track record creating training curricula, session outlines and facilitation guides that are effective for knowledge sharing and skill building in communities being mindful of grassroot realities
• Experience with engaging facilitation methodologies and learnings assessments.
• Proven results in sharing knowledge around SMA and SRHR in communities.
• A deep understanding of SRHR, SMA & Contraceptive guidelines, policies and realities across the African continent
• Experience designing and implementing effective Train the Trainer programs
• Strong past results in facilitating cross-learning between organizations
• Strong Coordination Skills: Keeping deliverables moving that require input from various busy parties.
• High personal effectiveness in remote working.
• You are comfortable working with people of diverse genders and apply the principle of non-discrimination in your work.
• Ability to relate and work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Strong strategic and analytical skills
• An innovative thinker with proven experience in using out of the box strategies to achieve large goals
• A natural relationship builder who is able to create and maintain win win partnerships
• Past experience overseeing key strategic outcomes and achieving incredible results. This includes leading work planning
• Strong project management skills
• Bilingual ability of French and English is highly desired, either Francophone with strong working proficiency in English, or Anglophone with strong working proficiency in French
