JOB DETAILS:
The Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council is a semi-autonomous Health Professional Regulatory and supervisory body under Ministry of Health; established by the Nurses and Midwives Act, 1996 to regulate and supervise the provision of quality nursing and midwifery services to the public. Its mandate is to set and regulate standards of nursing and midwifery training and practice and provide professional guidance for public safety. In order to effectively fulfill its mandate, the Council seeks to recruit suitably qualified persons to fill the following positions:
Job Title: Assistant Inventory Management Officer
Department: Finance, Planning and Administration department
Duty Station: Kampala
Salary Scale: UNMC 5L
Reports to: Procurement Officer
Job Purpose: To effectively and efficiently manage the stores of the Council.

Key Result Areas:
The job holder will be responsible for:
• Receiving, recording and storing supplies;
• Receiving requisitions and orders and issuing stores;
• Taking stock levels of the stores;
• Checking and verifying stores invoices;
• Keeping records of all stores received and issued out;
• Maintaining facilities for preservation, packing and storage;
• Offloading obsolete goods from stores;
• Maintaining and updating Stores Ledger;
• Maintaining and updating the Fixed Asset Register of the Council; and
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications:
EITHER: A Diploma in Supplies and Stores Management from a recognized awarding Institution
OR: Uganda Diploma of Business Studies from a recognized awarding institution


Experience:
• Must have relevant experience of at least two years in a similar work in a busy organization
