Call for Applications: Individual External Evaluators for the WeWork Project (Work Readiness Program)

Background:

  • WeWork Project (2023–2027): Aimed at equipping young people, particularly women, with the skills and opportunities needed for sustainable employment in the green economy.
  • Focus: Structured around two core pillars—Employability and Entrepreneurship—to ensure youth are trained and supported in accessing decent jobs or starting their own businesses in the green economy.
  • Organization: The Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) is managing this initiative, funded by the European Union.
  • Objective: PSFU is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to conduct comprehensive capacity assessments of companies interested in hosting/employing graduates under the Work Readiness Program (WRP).

Responsibilities:

The evaluators will conduct due diligence assessments of pre-screened companies and associations. Key tasks include:

  1. Assessment of Organizational Structure & Governance: Evaluate the company’s structure and governance practices.
  2. Evaluation of Financial & Operational Readiness: Assess the financial health and operational capacity of the company to host graduates.
  3. Review of Work Environment & Compliance with Labor Laws: Ensure the work environment meets legal and ethical standards.
  4. Risk Analysis & Mitigation Planning: Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies for hosting graduates.

Qualifications and Experience:

Interested applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Academic Qualifications:
    • A minimum of a Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, IT, Education, Tourism and Hospitality, Human Resources, Law, or related fields.
  • Experience:
    • Proven knowledge and experience in at least two of the following sectors: manufacturing (including agro-processing), construction, tourism, ICT/digitalization, and green economy.
    • Prior experience in similar assignments with EU and World Bank-funded projects, including organizational assessments, due diligence, or financial audits, is an added advantage.
    • At least three years of experience in organizational assessments, due diligence, organizational audits, or financial audits.
