The Centres Channel Lead reports to the Director Social Business and is part of the Senior Management Team of MS. The post-holder is a brand manager for the paid-for clinical sexual and reproductive health care services delivered to clients through our centres. In collaboration with the Executive team and the Social Marketing team, and drawing on the services of the marketing advisor, s/he ensures that as a result of effective clustering and support, these outlets are able to deliver commercially viable strategies to maximize improvements in their clients’ sexual health and well-being in a sustainable way across Uganda. In addition the post holder links to the global programme of MS through the network of Centres Channel Leads and the Global Centres Channel Director.

Success of this post is in achieving or exceeding the MS set thresholds as stipulated the respective annual BP including QTA model sites in external QTA exercise, percentage of PAC clients receiving PAFP percentage of family planning services that are LAPM, Income to Cost ratio/index. The ratio of Cash income verses corporate income, the ratio of Pac income verses the overall service income as well developing new products to meet developing customer need. Across outlets providing paid-for Marie Stopes services, the integrity of the Marie Stopes brand will be maintained, and recognition expanded

Design and roll out of strategies to maximise client use of MS clinical services mindful of Place, Product and Price issues by market segment
• Determine which services we will offer, to which clients, in which locations and through which channel, aiming to maximise reach and accessibility
• Research the competition and the context together with the clinical teams identifying opportunities for reproductive health impact and expansion of core services
• Draw on marketing research to agree effective Promotion tactics
• Business plans drawn from strategy, developed and agreed for MS, each channel, and each outlet, with a minimum set of KPIs and an agreed monthly management review process
• Spearhead the contextualization and Implementation of the Centres Success Model
• Conduct Market Alternative Assessments in the locality of each of the centres
• Determine the optimal Productivity per Centre.
Efficient clinical services run under the MS and U brand operating on a cost recovery basis and developing for Future needs
• Determine how best to price our services across the channels and locations to ensure optimal balance between equity, affordability and sustainability
Establish effective clusters of clinical outlets working together in mutual support to deliver high quality client care, with effective referral pathways in place
• Costs are effectively shared to find efficiencies in procurement, clinical supervision, HR, finance and other essential support services
• Investment opportunities enable greater efficiencies and impact to be achieved
• Enforce Participatory performance review Processes

The oversight and control of brand management in clinical services through all aspects of Quality Assurance
• Ensure appropriately trained service providers are available in each cluster to provide the full range of core services
• Training in clinical skills and counselling / client service skills are developed, costed, paid for and delivered
• Self-assessment practices, peer review and supportive supervision ensure teams work together to deliver excellent client care
• Coordinate the Implementation of MS’s quality Assurance guidelines and processes including both Internal and External QTA

Management of a small team of coordination staff to provide on timely support and corporate client interface
• Clear support team performance indicators
• Clear TOR and accountability to Clinical service providers

Qualification
• Excellent proven business strategy and leadership skills
• Proven use of innovation for success
• Business acumen in managing P&L accounts
• Facilitation and communication skills for brand management
• Senior level leadership with financial management and budget responsibility
• An active networker and listener at community at high level
• Proven communication and writing skills to persuade and influence
• Proven IT skills with the ability to drawn on and analyse data for strategic purposes
• This post-holder is expected to be educated to degree level with good scores in business or a clinical subject. Further preference will be shown to applicants with an MBA or MPH
