JOB DETAILS:
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Principal, you will lead UCU Mbale Innovation Hub in the delivery of the Hi-Innovator Roadmap, including the development of internal work plans, budget management, reporting and stakeholder management. The Project Delivery Coordinator will oversee the overall functioning of the Hi-Innovator initiative as a deputy to the Principal for internal and external engagements. You will be part of the leadership team at Mbale Innovation Hub. You will be the primary point of contact of the Hi-Innovator initiative between UCU Mbale University College Innovation Hub and key stakeholders.

What does success look like?
The project outcomes are achieved within the time period and budget scope.

Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Direct the execution of the project activities and ensure timely implementation of the project.
2. Ensure the proper allocation of project expenditures and monitor the program budget, using internal tools to ensure that expenditure rates are in line with the objective.
3. Ensure that the operational and financial execution rates of the project are in line with their respective rates of progress.
4. Oversee project monitoring and evaluation of results, and produce narrative reports for internal and external consumption.
5. Supervise and support project staff to produce high-quality results.
6. Ensure that project activities are conducted within the policies and regulations of our supporting partners and UCU.
7. Ability to support external stakeholder management and partnership engagements.
8. Represent the Hi-Innovator at key stakeholder meetings and engagements.
9. Set up and document implementation processes based on learnings that can be scaled up to support execution.

Qualifications and Experience:
Technical Skills
a) Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or any related field from a recognized institution of Higher learning;
b) Have at least three (3) years’ experience in sales or network development.
c) Proficient with the corporate world and presentation skills.
d) Extremely strong communication and persuasion skills.
e) Ability to lead in at least one of the specialization areas of the programme that may include agriculture, digital economy, health, education, light manufacturing, tourism, retail.
f) Ability to write well-written and analytical reports.
g) Experience of at least two (2) years overseeing a multi-year enterprise development national programme is preferred, with strong project management and budgeting skills.

Social and Human Skills
a) Experience working in or with a youth-led organization.
b) Ability to comfortable work with the abstract, while applying design thinking and agile approaches to provide clarity and iterate implementation based on evidence gathered
c) Understand the entrepreneurship, innovation and SME landscape in Uganda and the region at large.
d) Must have strong listening and presentation skills.
e) Proficient in zoom, Google hangouts or Microsoft teams is a plus.
f) Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, Google Slides, experience with pipe drive or other CRM tools
g) Willingness to travel extensively around Uganda.
h) Have high levels of cultural sensitivity and cross-cultural communication skills.
