Job Summary:

The Senior Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and enforcement of occupational health and safety (OHS) policies across UNMC operations. The officer ensures that all work environments meet legal and regulatory standards to protect employees and company assets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive OHS policies and procedures
• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits
• Train staff on health and safety procedures
• Investigate accidents and incidents and recommend preventive measures
• Ensure compliance with national and international health and safety laws

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Certification in NEBOSH or equivalent is an added advantage
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the mining or industrial sector

Competencies and Skills:

• Strong understanding of OHS regulations
• Excellent communication and training skills
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities

Experience in Months: 60

Level of Education: bachelor degree
