JOB DETAILS:
NIC General is a wholly owned subsidiary of NIC Holdings Limited (NIC). NIC General was incorporated on 3rd March, 2014 and took over the general insurance businesses of NIC in compliance with the legal requirement for separation of insurance businesses under the Insurance (Amendment) Act.
NIC General Insurance is looking for an experienced person to take up a position of Senior IT Officer – Business Systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in the full business automation efforts as the technical lead.
• Assist in supervising the IT interns.
• Assist in developing new web based software applications and/or modules as and when needed
• Test developed web application systems.
• Provide advanced help desk support to staff on all NIC systems and network
• Assist personnel of other departments as an IT resource.
• Performing Cyber security awareness training of all users quarterly.
• Website and software application designing, building, or maintaining using scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools, applications, and digital media.
• Assist in performing website updates at the request of the corporate communications department.
• Back up files from Web sites to local directories and cloud storage.
• Any other professional duties as may be required from time to time.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar position.
• Proficiency in programming using common web development tools and languages.
• Skilled in managing databases using SQL or NoSQL technologies,
• Working knowledge of operating systems like Linux, macOS, and Windows.
• Basic understanding of secure coding practices.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
