Job purpose
Always ensure that all cherries received at the washing station are properly Purchased, processed, washed, sorted, stored and dispatched according to SOP and work instructions. All documents are accurately timely recorded.
Duties and responsibilities
o Monitoring the washing of the coffee, moving the coffee to dripping trays after weighing the coffee, and dispatching the coffee to the regional warehouse for further drying as per SOP.
o Achieve Cherry Procurement, processing and Out-turn as specified in SOP.
o Achieving the budgeted cherry volume set by management for each season.
o Preparing and submitting advance requests to Management and recovering the advance outstanding fully before end of the season.
o Running the operations within a set budget.
o Team Build by training the staff working at the washing station
o Ensuring that the Washing Station has valid licenses to run the operation of the station, such as UCDA license, water discharge and abstractions, trading license, NEMA licenses and Report etc.
o Prepare and submit operational requirements, budget, capex, Manpower requirements to the line manager at the beginning of each season and financial year.
o Manage the wastewater management system in accordance with the wastewater management system's procedures to meet regulatory standards for wastewater disposal.
o Meeting certification standards by achieving no child labor at the station, good traceability for the coffee processed, proper shift hours, using Calibrated equipment, Employing Staffs with proper PPE, etc.
o Meeting HSE, FSMS standards by achieving zero accidents in WS, keeping assets (GH, machines, production area, WH & working tools, etc.) clean and in good condition, zero coffee spills through operations, properly storing the coffee at the WS avoiding theft OR quality issues etc.
o Properly submit the report to the AX team and Line Manager for all coffee processed and dispatched, casual labor, fuel, water, spare parts, trucks, bags used, water discharged.
o Effective communication of all the Operations activities taking place at the WS. This is through attending the weekly meeting and sharing the Updates on operation.
o Make sure no different quality or Batches of coffee are mixed throughout the process.
o Any other duties may be assigned from time to time.
o Follow and compliance with company policies and regulations.
o You will be fully responsible for all activities that take place in the washing station in the absence of the assistant washing station manager.
ACCIDENTS AND FIRE:
You must make sure that the Company Accident Procedure and Fire Procedures is followed at all times. A copy of the Accident Procedure and Fire Procedure can be found on the Production Department Notice Board. Any Accident or Fire related incident must be reported to the HSSE Manager immediately.
If you are involved in an accident or fire, you must make sure that the Operations Manager is informed immediately. You must then follow this up by compiling a full detailed written report. This Accident Report or Fire Out-break Book must cover all events leading up to and after the accident/fire, including a detailed sketch map of the accident/fire site.
HEALTH AND SAFETY:
It will be your responsibility to minimize all occupational health hazards in the Factory and Stores at the washing station. All production staff must ensure that their workplace is physically safe to protect other workers and themselves from possible harm or injury. You must ensure that you wear the appropriate protective wear for any job that may be carried out. E.g., Helmets, goggles, safely belts, dust masks, gloves, shields, aprons etc.

- Relevant qualifications and systems training associated with stores and stock management and experience in warehouse management.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks all with attention to fine detail.
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective leadership and people management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
- Good interpersonal skills to work with management and staff at all levels.
