Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee contractor preparation and execution of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities (onshore/offshore). Monitor planning and progress.
  • Review and approve contractor strategies, procedures, and operational test plans for commissioning.
  • Ensure all commissioning tasks align with project HSE standards and are performed safely.
  • Witness mechanical completion through contractor pre-commissioning on subsystem basis. Provide input on planning and reporting.
  • Apply expert knowledge of ICAPS (or similar) for commissioning completion tracking.
  • Approve commissioning plans, punch list processes, and closeout documentation.
  • Monitor system/subsystem commissioning progress leading to AOC; validate dossiers and follow-up reports.
  • Supervise contractor FATs at vendor sites; contribute to planning and reporting cycles.
  • Support offshore installation, hook-up, and production start-up commissioning phases.
  • Ensure electrical scope aligns with project standards and coordinate with discipline experts.
  • Participate in training of production and maintenance teams.
  • Verify HV/MV personnel certifications and maintain competency records.
  • Approve electrical energization of new systems; validate HV energization PSSR.
  • Conduct audits for safe operation of electrical substations.
  • Coordinate site-wide HVAC commissioning with vendors and contractors.

Required Experience

  • 10–12+ years in electrical and safety systems commissioning in oil & gas or related sectors.
  • Strong background in strategy development, planning, and contractor oversight during start-up phases.
  • Solid experience with HV/MV systems commissioning and safety protocols.
  • Familiar with E&P project environments; capable of navigating technical and commercial risks.
  • Prior work in site-based or integrated electrical teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing multidisciplinary personnel and contractors.
  • General understanding of interfacing disciplines within project teams.
