ZOA, in partnership with Cordaid and with funding from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN), is implementing the Agricultural Governance Results Improvement Project (A-GRIP) in the Busoga, Elgon, Kigezi, Lango, and Rwenzori regions of Uganda. One key component of A-GRIP is to promote awareness and uptake of Certificates of Customary Ownership (CCOs) and enhance knowledge of land rights and land dispute resolution through development of context-appropriate Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials.
To support this objective, ZOA seeks the services of a qualified consultant or consultancy firm to develop, design, translate and illustrate awareness raising materials. The materials will be translated from English to 7 major languages which are Kupsabiny, Rukiga, Rufimbira, Rutooro, Langi,Lusoga and Lugisu. These will be disseminated in communities by sub-county land teams, Area Land Committees, and community facilitators.
ZOA Uganda seeks the services of a consultant to develop, design and translate IEC materials on community awareness and understanding of customary land tenure, land rights, and the process of obtaining Certificates of Customary Ownership (CCOs).
Specific objectives.
ZOA Uganda will provide initial activity details with the consultant expected to undertake the following activities in close coordination with ZOA AGRIP Project staff. The expected output from this consultancy services is production of simple yet effective, eye catchy and easy to understand content on customary land tenure system. The consultant shall develop, design and translate materials in a comprehensive manner for printing.
The Specific tasks are;
The consultant will complete the assignment within 25 days from the date of contract signing.
All costs related to the consultancy activity will be submitted to ZOA Uganda by the consultant in form of financial proposal in response to this ToR. Payment will be issued in instalments and final payment to the consultant will be made after the delivery of the final materials and are approved by ZOA Uganda. The budget should cover costs for: development, design and translation costs, related taxes, costs related to field IEC materials pretesting operations, transportation among others.

The consultant / consultancy firm shall protect the confidentiality of those participating in all stages of the assessment. All information and data acquired from documents, during interviews and meetings are confidential. The assessment deliverables and all materials linked to the assessment, produced by the consultant / consultancy firm remains the property of ZOA Uganda and must not be shared with third parties without approval from ZOA Uganda.
