SUBJECT OF PROCUREMENT:

CONSTRUCTION WORKS FOR THE COMPLETION OF 33KV AND 11KV DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS IN SOUTH WESTERN AND WESTERN SERVICE TERRITORIES IN MITOOMA AND RUKUNGIRI DISTRICTS IN UGANDA.

1. The Government of Uganda represented by Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) invites sealed tenders from eligible bidders for Construction Works for the Completion of 33KV and 11KV Distribution Networks in South Western and Western Service Territories in Mitooma and Rukungiri Districts in Uganda (hereinafter called the Works) and the remedying of any defects therein.

2. The Government of Uganda represented by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) has obtained a loan from Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) for the financing of Rural Electrification in Six Districts, and it is intended that part of the proceeds of the said loan will be applied towards the costs of the Works.

3. The procurement is reserved for National Providers as per the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets (PPDA) Guidelines of reference number 1/2024. Eligible interested bidders may obtain further information about this Invitation of Tender from, and inspect the Tender Documents at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD), Plot 29/33 Amber House, Kampala Road, 1st Floor, Room C109, Procurement and Disposal Unit.

4. A complete set of the tender document may be obtained by eligible interested bidders upon submission of a written application to the company letterhead page to the aforesaid address and upon payment of a non-refundable fee.

5. Tenders must be submitted to the office mentioned in paragraph (3) above not later than 11:30 Hours (Local Time) on 26th February 2025 and must be accompanied by a Bid Securing Declaration in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

6. Tenders will be opened in a session to be held at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD), Plot 29/33 Amber House, Kampala Road, 1st Floor, Room C109, Procurement and Disposal Unit, and in the presence of representatives of tenderers who wish to attend. This session will take place at 11:45 Hours (Local Time) on 26th February 2025.
