The African Women in Processing (AWIP) initiative is a continental movement championing women-led industrialization across Africa through agro-processing, clean energy, and manufacturing. AWIP Uganda, in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and key Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), is spearheaded the establishment of industrial spaces designed to support and scale women-led businesses by facilitating them to own industrial spaces fully equipped, certified and linked to morale.
Each Industrial Park comprises of approximately 54 workspaces. Funding is partial self-financing through negotiated models and partial grants requiring qualified women-owned businesses, cooperatives, and investment clubs involved in the value chains of: Spaces (ginger currency rights, option), Client, Coffee, Fruits, pineapple, maropas, dresses (dried and fresh), Oil Sacks, (teachers stop and sautéhare) essential oils (seamery, brim oil spies, lavender, etc), honey milk products (cheers, yoghurt, spine, powder) Soaps, Shampoo and Lotons, shea and ghee butter, fertiliser and metal waxes, minerals.
Women-owned businesses in processing or aspiring to value addition and processing
Women-led businesses registered either as a company, association companies, partnership etc.
Registered women as cooperatives
Women-majority investment clubs
Any women Groups involved in: production and processing of value chains alone
Agro processing
Hospitality products of Spaces and Lotons, cosmetics Tortiles, Metal works and Mining

Registered Business/Group Name and Certificate Number
Description of Value Chain Activities (Production/Processing/Both) Contact Details
Location and size of land for production
Evidence of ability to part finance using cash flows or a letter from bank
