JOB DETAILS:
Bahari forwarders limited is a transport, clearing and forwarding company operating within East Africa region with offices in Kenya and Uganda and currently seeking to recruit for the following positions for our Uganda
operations:

Chief Accountant - REF.BFUL001

Job Purpose: responsible for running the account department of the branch, financial and audit compliance, financial reports preparation, managing taxes and other statutory compliance on a timely manner...

Key roles and responsibilities:
• Ensure timely monthly financial reports preparations
• Manage the creditors and ensure payments are done on schedule as per the credit policy.
• Manage all debtors by strictly adhering to policy on debtor days.
• Daily management of cash flows and ensuring funds budgeted for operations are adequately provided on time to avoid any disruptions.
• Oversee bank reconciliations and follow up with the banks to address queries.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory payments.
• Manage all tax matters of the company
• Policy implementation in the department of finance and accounts
• Ensure the asset Register is properly maintained.
• Evaluation and implementation of ERP system.
• Manage all staff in the department

Desired Skills and qualifications
• Strong analytical abilities
• Previous experience in transport and logistics industry
• 8 years' experience as an accountant
• Good IT skills and finance software applications
• Relevant working experience with SAP system.
• Good organization and presentation skills
• CPA/ACCA Certified plus degree in Business.

Level of Education: Associate Degree
