Job Summary
The Community Manager will play a crucial role in fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and engaged community for WCUGU. This role involves overseeing member interactions, managing project execution, and ensuring effective communication across all platforms. It focuses on fostering a strong community, ensuring efficient project management, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Engagement:
- Manage online platforms (forums, social media, and other digital spaces) to foster meaningful discussions, activities, and connections among members.
- Create and maintain a welcoming environment that encourages participation and ensures all members feel valued and included.
- Membership Growth:
Proactively recruit new members and implement strategies to retain existing ones, ensuring a growing and dynamic community.
- Project Leadership:
- Manage and oversee projects aligned with WCUGU’s strategic objectives.
- Ensure projects are delivered effectively, on time, and within budget.
- Lead project teams, coordinate efforts, and monitor progress for high-quality outcomes.
- Strategy Development and Communication:
- Develop and implement communication strategies to raise awareness of WCUGU’s activities and mission.
- Create, manage, and curate content for digital platforms, including websites, social media, and press releases.
- Media Relations:
Cultivate relationships with media houses and coordinate media engagements to promote the user group’s initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in community management, project leadership, and communication.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, online communities, and digital engagement.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in content creation and media relations is an added advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: 3M UGX gross per month.
- Benefits: NSSF and health insurance coverage for one staff member and two beneficiaries.
- Work Environment: Flexible work environment with opportunities for professional development and growth.
