JOB DETAILS:
NIC General is a wholly owned subsidiary of NIC Holdings Limited (NIC). NIC General was incorporated on 3rd March, 2014 and took over the general insurance businesses of NIC in compliance with the legal requirement for separation of insurance businesses under the Insurance (Amendment) Act.
Purpose : Implementing the security policies and protection to safeguard the physical wellbeing of staff, tenants, visitors and property
Duties and Responsibilities
• Enforce and implement laws and company policies.
• Implement and maintain safety protocols and measures.
• Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras, alarms and access control systems.
• Respond promptly to security breaches alarms and other emergencies.
• Conduct regular patrols of the buildings and ensure only authorized personnel have access to restricted areas.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports, including details of security breaches, incidents, suspicious activities and surveillance findings.
• Supervise the performance of the external security firm.
• Oversee and manage attendance registers.
• Verify and record the exit of tenants.
• Report complex cases to the police and follow up on their progress.
• Report incidents of theft, burglary, vandalism and other criminal activities.
• Secure all exits, doors and windows after operations close for the day.
• Handover the day`s activities and office keys to the next shift in charge before signing off.
• Ensure security lights are switched on by 7p.m and turned off by 6 a.m.
• Any other related duties that maybe assigned.
Requirements
• A minimum of Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education or holder or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience in the same role.
• Clearance or certificate of good conduct from Interpol Uganda police.
• Demonstrate good communication skills.
• Report writing skills.
• Analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer skills in Microsoft office.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience with leading Teams.
• Emotional intelligence.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
