JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the Senior Manager Systems Architecture, the role holder will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of innovative and robust technology solutions that align with the bank’s business objectives. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring optimal integration of systems, security, and regulatory compliance. The Solution Architect is pivotal in the bank’s digital transformation initiatives, driving efficiency and enhancing customer experiences through modern technologies
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop solution architectures that align with the bank’s IT strategy, including cloud, data, and integration solutions.
- Design scalable, secure and high-performance technology solutions that integrate various banking platforms, core banking systems, in-house applications, and third-party services.
- Analyze and document the current IT environment and recommend improvements based on industry standards.
- Maintain documentation of solution and enterprise architectures, design principles, and technology stacks.
- Provide technical leadership, ensuring projects adhere to the bank’s architectural standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Guide and mentor development teams/ analysts to ensure correct architecture implementation and adherence to best practices.
- Drive innovation by identifying and adopting new technologies and architectural patterns to improve the bank’s operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or another related field.
- A Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
- TOGAF or other IT architecture certifications.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), Microservices, SOA architectures, and APIs.
- Familiarity with DevOps, automated tools, and testing practices.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as .NET, Java, Python, JavaScript, and web standards.
- Experience with Oracle, MS SQL, and optionally PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Knowledge of Windows, Unix, Linux operating systems and mixed environments.
- 5+ years of experience in software development, solutions architecture, or systems analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage vendor relationships.
- Deep understanding of banking operations, FinTech trends, and digital banking services.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and thrive under pressure.
