JOB DETAILS:
Bahari forwarders limited is a transport, clearing and forwarding company operating within East Africa region with offices in Kenya and Uganda and currently seeking to recruit for the following positions for our Uganda
operations:

TRANSPORT OFFICER - REF.BFUL002

Job Purpose: Achieve trucks efficiency by optimizing use and design systems and processes on all aspects of fleet performance and effectiveness on people management for improved productivity.

Key roles and responsibilities:
• Working closely with finance on route costing and advising on best rates to different clients. Achieve compliance with all company fleet and prepare monthly reports to management.
• Develop effective driver monitoring systems and tools to improve truck turnaround.
• Developing efficient routes schedules to maximize profits.
• Managing drivers so they adhere to set standards in the company.
• Achieve timely offloading by customers by effectively communicating with customers and monitoring the trucks to avoid any delays.
• Ensuring all required licensing of trucks is achieved on timely basis
• Plan along with the workshop for Routine vehicle maintenance schedule.
• Ensure drivers are properly trained on customer service.
• Ensure the deployed IT tools on trucks are functioning and meeting the desired objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all trucks in terms of required documentation and licences.
• Ensure proper handling of all insurance motor claims. Manage all road accidents on timely basis Ensuring safety of cargo loaded for customers.
• Manage performance of and training of drivers to optimize productivity

Desired Skills and qualifications
• Degree/diploma in logistics or fleet management.
• 5 years working experience in a senior role in the transportation industry.
• Good organizational skills.
• Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
• Good IT skills

Level of Education: Associate Degree
