As our Country Representative in Kampala, you will be instrumental in expanding Mission Alliance’s presence and ensuring high-quality, impactful programming. You will lead efforts to establish partnerships, secure funding, and represent Mission
Alliance in key networks. This role requires strategic leadership, strong relationship- building skills, and a deep commitment to poverty alleviation and justice."
Your role:
• Lay the groundwork for Mission Alliance’s strategic growth and long-term presence in Uganda.
• Responsible for quality, growth and development of our program portfolio.
• Identify partners and program opportunities within the global strategy
• Set up a local office and ensure the necessary legal registrations and permits
• Securing new funding and fostering innovation
• Oversee financial accountability, compliance with donor regulations, and assessing program performance, including anti-corruption efforts.
• Representing Mission Alliance locally by building relationships and networks with partners, other organizations, potential donors, and the private sector As Country Representative for Mission Alliance, you will be part of a team of Country Directors globally and report directly to the International Director in Oslo. We are looking for a leader who is motivated to represent a Christian organization and our mission to combat poverty and promote justice.
Your profile:
• Proven leadership experience, preferably in cross-cultural teams
• Experience in long-term development work or other international roles
• Competence in working with partner organizations and churches
• Familiarity with civil society work, diaconia, and Norwegian development policy
• Strong financial understanding and experience with grant management or institutional donors
• Relevant higher education, preferably in social sciences, international relations/development, economics, or similar fields Personal qualities
• Strategic mindset and strong analytical skills
• Structured and action-oriented
• Ability to network and build relationships
• Startup mentality and intrigued by reaching targets
• Good communication and collaboration skills

We are offering a two-year contract, with the possibility for extension. The start date will be
determined by agreement. The Office will be in Kampala, Uganda and travel activities, both
