The Senior Systems Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure, with a particular focus on supporting and managing both our Infrastructure and Unified Communications. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced professional capable of handling complex networking, security, and system administration tasks, as well as effectively managing vendor and stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management & Procurement:
- Oversee the lifecycle management of IT assets, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of IT assets and services.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT assets and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
IT Policies & Implementations:
- Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to IT policies across the organization.
- Regularly review and update policies to align with evolving technology and business needs.
Network & Endpoint Security:
- Oversee the security of the organization’s network, endpoints, and IT infrastructure.
- Implement and manage security solutions to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments, and take corrective actions as needed.
Onboarding & Off boarding:
- Manage the IT aspects of employee onboarding and off boarding processes, ensuring timely provisioning and de-provisioning of access and equipment.
- Collaborate with the People and Culture Department to streamline IT-related processes for new hires and exiting employees.
License & Access Management:
- Manage software licenses, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements and optimizing usage across the organization.
- Oversee access control management, ensuring that employees have the appropriate levels of access to systems and data.
Call Centre Management:
- Oversee the IT infrastructure supporting the organization's Voice Infrastructure - Call Centre Studio, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to call center systems, including telephony, VoIP, and related applications.
- Manage and maintain call center software and hardware, including updates and configurations.
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar Senior Systems Engineer role.
- 3+ years’ experience managing call centre technologies (VOIP) and systems.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security principles, and system administration best practices.
- Proven experience in IT operations, including asset management, procurement, and security.
- Strong understanding of IT policies, network security, and access management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Highly organized with a structured approach to managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
Added Advantage: Certifications like CCNA, Security+, Voice, or relevant Microsoft certifications
