ROLE PURPOSE:

Under the supervision of the Procurement &Logistics officer, the Transport Officer will be responsible for transportation of staff to different duty destinations and maintenance of the project vehicle. Create and maintain aclear vehicle log sheet, ensure vehicle maintenance tracker and timely submission of fuel accountabilities.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Up-date the log book of the assigned vehicle with right mileage, fuel and oil/ spare parts used.
  • Prepare fuel accountabilities and maintain a tracker on mechanical faults.
  • Carry out routine checks and prepare appropriate service schedules for the assigned vehicle.
  • Transport staff to various duty destinations.
  • Ensure safe delivery of project documents/ supplies in transit.
  • Check and verify all service and repair undertaken on the assigned project vehicle and give feedback to the procurement and Logistics officer.
  • Any other tasks as advised by your supervisor.

Academic background, experience and person specifications:

  • The applicant should possess a S.4Leavers Certificate or Diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years driving project vehicles.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Awareness of good practices in relation to child safeguarding and Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.
  • Possession of a valid permit of Classes; A, B, E, CM, CH, DL AND DM.
  • Knowledge of defensive driving, Basic automotive maintenance, first aid and different routes around the country are added advantage.
