ADVERTISED ABRIDGED NOTICE OF EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industries and Fisheries (MAAIF) has received support from the World bank (P173296) to Implement the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP).
The Project Development Objective (PDO) is to increase productivity, market access and resilience of select value chains in the project area and to respond promptly and effectively to an eligible crisis or
emergency.
The project is aimed at achieving the triple goal of increasing sustained production and productivity, reduction in greenhouse gas emission and increasing adaptation and resilience of Communities to climate Change. The project will augment the ongoing investments within the Agriculture sector and will create synergies with ongoing projects in the sector which among others includes Agriculture Cluster Development Project, the Agricultural Value Chain Development Programme-Project 1 while ensuring that there is no duplication of investments. The UCSATP will also synergize the implementation of the Parish Development Model by generating new and resistant seeds and breeds that shall be accessed by farmers, facilitating production, storage, processing and marketing of selected sustainable agricultural value chains.
The activities and investments to be supported under the proposed project are organized into five interlinked components; (a) Strengthening Climate Smart Agricultural Research, Seed, and Agro-Climatic Information Systems; (b) Promoting Adoption of Climate Smart Agriculture Technologies and Practices; (c) Market Development and Linkages to Selected Value Chains; (d) Contingency Emergency Response Component; and (e) Project Management, Coordination, and Implementation.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF), invites suitably qualified individuals, with qualifications and experience to apply for the following position of (a) Deputy National Project Coordinator; (b) Senior Monitoring & Evaluation Officer; (c) Senior Financial Management Officer; (d) Senior Grants Management Officer; (e) Senior Procurement Officer; (f) Senior Environment Health and Safety Officer; (g) Senior Social Safeguards Officer; and (h) Senior Sustainable Land Management Officer; A Refugee Livelihoods Officer (9 Positions)
The shortlisting and selection shall be conducted in accordance with the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World Bank Borrowers [July 2014] ("Consultant Guidelines").
