As Pyypl continues to scale, we are looking for a Finance Manager Uganda to help us scale our platform through the next big growth-phase.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Accounting: Process cost invoices, Issue sales or cost recharge invoices, Maintain bookkeeping
• Reporting: Prepare management reports, prepare inputs to consolidated group results. Prepare and submit local statutory reports (tax, financial, statistics)
• Audit: Manage external auditors
• Liquidity & funding: Prepare corporate payments, execute corporate payments, monitor entity-level liquidity, prepare short-term cash flow forecasts (< 12 months), Reconcile subsidiary data with banks and PSPs, Sustain relationships with payment providers and banks, Monitoring PSP and bank activities, (especially correct pricing used and payments timing), Ensure timely settlements with payment providers
• FX: Manage currency rates provided by partners.
• Funding and Disbursement: Oversee the disbursement of funds to dealers after confirming that money has been credited to our bank account.
• Bank Visits: Visit banks to process transactions, make deposits, and handle any financial matters related to the business's accounts.
• Financial Reporting: Preparing regular financial statements, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the company's financial health.
• Bookkeeping: Maintaining accurate financial records, tracking transactions, and reconciling accounts. This includes managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile the company's financial records with bank statements to ensure accuracy.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit local tax documentation and reports, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, preparing and filing tax returns, and managing tax-related matters.
• Vendor and Supplier Management: implementing contracts with vendors and suppliers, managing payment terms, and ensuring cost-effective procurement.
• Financial Compliance: Ensuring that the company follows financial regulations and standards and keeping up to date with changes in financial reporting requirements.
• Payroll: Handling payroll processing and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
• Government Office Visits: Represent the company at government offices for tasks such as submitting applications and collecting paperwork or resolving minor regulatory issues.
• Document Authentication: Visit government offices to authenticate and notarize documents as required for business operations.
• Perform ad hoc clerical work like maintaining records and assisting with administrative tasks as needed.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION?
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Accounting, Banking and Finance or equivalent
• Experience of a similar Management Accountant/ Finance role
• Experience with MS Dynamic would be considered a plus
• Qualified accountant ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
• Prior experience audit of financial institutions considered a plus
• 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role with good analytical skills
• Numerate, analytical, and self-motivated approach
• Experience of leading and managing accurate cash flows and annual budgets
• Fluency in Luganda and English.
