JOB DETAILS:
This individual will play a crucial role in our team, responsible for ensuring we provide the best quality coffee for our customers. You must be passionate about quality and coffee and as well as leading the Quality Team you will also be an important team player working closely with both internal team members and our customers. You will be highly innovative always seeking out new ideas and ways in which we can keep providing exciting coffee options to the markets we work in whilst never comprising on quality.

General Duties will involve (but not limited to):
1. Lead the day to day running and management of our Quality Lab to a high standard implementing best in practice standards including sample management.
2. Oversee the quality of all export products.
3. Manage new product development.
4. Facilitate and lead regular cupping sessions.
5. Responsible for overseeing our Quality Analysis processes.
6. Implement and manage a first class record and sample keeping store.
7. Leading Our Quality Team, creating a team culture that is focused on delivering results and high performance as well as innovation and fun.
8. Provide regular feedback to the quality team on performance and process improvements as well as working closely with the commercial and production teams on the same.
9. Create a culture of development, keeping up to date with industry trends and advancements and using this to continuously develop the knowledge of your team members and colleagues on all things quality!

Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience in a similar role leading a high performing Quality Department is a MUST.
• Passion for all things quality related as well as a passion for data and data driven performance.
• Experience in implementing and using software systems such as Cropster would be an added advantage.
• Experience with experimental coffee processes such as knowledge of yeast and fermentation as well as implementing the data system and controls to monitor and measure specialty processing to cup stores.
• Creative and Curious – always seeking to learn new things and sharing that knowledge and passion for innovation with the team around you.
• Several years’ experience as a Quality lab tech and/or lead roaster.
• Experience roasting coffee in a variety of styles.
• Skilled cupper – Q Grader qualified is desirable.
• Very detail – oriented, meticulous, and highly analytical.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clear leadership abilities.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Communication Skills proficiency – clear and articulate written and verbal communication skills is a MUST!
