JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
The M&E Assistant will be responsible for the maintenance of OVC KAMPALA Activity data systems, S/he will ensure accurate and timely entry of activity-related data and regularly prepare reports that lead to sound management decisions. Conduct field monitoring visits and ensure data collectors understand all data collection tools and the general M&E functions.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Work with the MEL specialist to develop the OVC Kampala Activity M&E Plan, including indicator selection, target setting with the programs team, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and performance monitoring plans.
• Oversee data collection, collation, storage, analysis, and reporting, ensuring that data is of high quality and audit-worthy.
• Prepare Quarterly OVCMIS and HIBRID reports.
• Responsible for supporting the preparation and review of program reports in collaboration with program staff.
• Carry out research activities and ensure outcomes and lessons learned are integrated into the project and shared with relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure that the information and reports generated from the management information system (MIS) are utilized for program improvement and learning.
• Produce other reports as requested by the MEL Advisor, MEL specialist, and other technical staff.
• Provide technical leadership and supervision to data entrants and oversee data management.
• Make efforts to strengthen monitoring, evaluation, and performance reporting within the geographic area of Activity.
• Maintain Activity databases as required, and produce and disseminate periodic performance reports.
• Support the project team in documenting and reporting success stories
• Provide technical input towards the project implementation to ensure the project activities address the set objectives.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Information technology, Social Sciences, and Development studies.
• A minimum of 3 years’ progressive experience in social or operational research, research methods, development and management, M&E, in NGOs
• A post-graduate training in M&E is desirable.
• Previous experience with data entry and analysis.
• Computer literacy and competence in Microsoft software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Prior exposure and experience in setting up and managing M&E systems, preferably in an NGO setting.
• Competence and experience in participatory research methods and M&E.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to deliver results.
